Vendor charged our card on 12/9/05 for $3099.00 and has never sent item or refunded our money.

Following are the details of our attempted purchase with RV Add Ons.

December 2005 we tried to order generator on line @ www.rvaddons.com but couldn’t find it on the website any longer.  We called 888-778-0814 and talked to Jeffrey A Hackman. He said that he wasn’t selling them anymore. As we talked, Jeff said he would make a call and get right back to us.  A few minutes later he called back and said he could get the generator for us.  We ordered a Honda EV6010 with right exit muffler, priced @ $3099.00 & free shipping.   We gave him our credit card number and made the purchase.

Jeff said that is was in the middle of the Christmas shipping season and he would ship after Christmas.  We told him that it would be ok.  Jeff charged the credit card that day (12-9-05) for $3099.00 .  The charge was listed as being paid to Gear 4 Boating, which is another business of his (www.gear4boating.com).

We called Jeff in January and never received a call back from him. Then, we called him 2-14-06, 2-15-06, 2-16-06.  Jeff called back on 2-17-06 to say that the generator will be shipped on Monday the 20th.  He said he would call back with tracking numbers, too. Then we never heard from him. We called him on 3-3-06, 3-6-06, 3-7-06, 3-8-06, 3-10-06, 3-13-06.

We received a phone call from Jeffrey A Hackman on March 16 2006 @ 3:15 PM transcribed from digital recorder. 'Hey, this is Jeff with RV Add On’s.  Just getting back to you on the generator.  I just wanted to tell you that the original supplier was supposed to ship it to you, I cancelled the order with him. I ordered from a new supplier out of Minnesota, which is actually closer to you & therefore put the shipping at all complete on Monday , and by Tuesday I should have tracking information for you. 888-778-0814 if you have any questions, thank you.'

This was the last time we ever heard from him. We called him, 3-24-06, 3-27-06, 3-29-06, 3-31-06, 4-3-06, 4-4-06.  On 4-9-06 we emailed him through his web site(www.rvaddons.com) Again no response.  On 4-12-06 we faxed him. Again no response.  My daughter called him on 6-3-06 and he never returned her call.  She then called him from another phone and left a message, but he never returned her call either.  We started researching Jeffrey A Hackman and his business on the internet and wasn’t happy about what we found. The BBB of Southeast Florida (www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org) had numerous complaints on him. We found that Jeffrey A Hackmans LLC (www.sunbiz.org) was applied for but apparently never finished. It has an inactive status. Jeffrey Hackmans web site says that they have Phone Assistance M-F 10 AM to 4PM EST, but no one has ever answered the phone there.  You have to leave a message and he calls you back, some of the time.

We wish we had seen a website like this one before we had ordered so we wanted to share our experience before you make the mistake that we have.

Complaint Form : I had the same problem with RVADDONS.com, Jeff Hackman, and who
knows what other names he trades under. He enjoys taking peoples money and not
standing behind the products that he sells. Unfortunately I took a loss on
shipping costs, but at least go some of my money refunded after months of
calling. I also called the consumer complaint department in Florida.

The man is slippery. No one should order from him
